Much of what a good computer consultant does, is determine what can go wrong and take steps to prevent it. A good warranty is a wonderful thing, but not needing it is even better.

Mobile Security

If you are on the road, in a hotel, or otherwise connecting to the Internet through an uncontrolled environment, then you need a VPN. I recommend Hotspot VPN for an inexpensive answer to this problem. For about $90/yr. you can use a secure VPN whenever you travel.
