Another WinPatrol Upgrade

WinPatrol, one of the best programs around, keeps getting better. The newest version (8) adds features and cuts size. It has divided the program (internally, we can't see the difference), into two parts, so the part that runs continuously takes up even less memory.

In addition, it now monitors file associations. This has saved me twice when newly installed programs tried to change my file associations. For example, a new browser decided it should open my jpeg files! But, WinPatrol stopped it.

Another great new feature is "stubborn delete". If a program will not let you delete it from startup, you can right click and select "delete on restart". Then the next time Windows starts, before the evil program has a chance to protect it, Scotty will delete it. Very sweet.

WinPatrol has also expanded it's cookie control. You can download the latest WinPatrol from http:⁄⁄www.winpatrol.com
