2 Firefox Tips

1. Stop sites from resizing your Firefox Window.
Sometimes a site runs a script on your computer which resizes your Firefox window so it is very small and usually in the upper left corner. You can stop this rare, but irritating behavior by selecting: Tools; then Options; then Content; then uncheck the allow scripts to: "Move or resize existing windows". So far I haven't found a reason to allow them to do this.

2. Wot

Wot stands for Web Of Trust. It is a warning system to help prevent your going to malicious websites and to warn you about unreliable shopping sites. Most of you are familiar with McAfee's SiteAdvisor. WOT (http:⁄⁄www.mywot.com⁄) does a little more. It looks at Trustworthiness, Vendor Reliability, Privacy and Child Safety. It utilizes a vast user community to help find sites and to rate them. It allows you to join that community and rate the websites you use and even read comments from others. This can be a useful resource before clicking on a link in a search, doing business with, or giving your email address to a website.

This is an example of a WOT warning screen.

There is also a version for Microsoft's Internet Exposer browser for those of you who like to live a little more dangerously.
