Correction
My friend David Cornelius wrote me after the last newsletter saying:
Steve,
Your comment about AVG gave me the impression there was no more free version from Grisoft. But their web page simply says that version 6 is being replaced by a new free version (http:⁄⁄free.grisoft.com⁄freeweb.php⁄doc⁄5443⁄lng⁄us). Was there something else that you saw in that announcement I should be concerned about? Is Avast a much better AV program? I'm not trying to be critical--just curious. Thanks for another good newsletter!
Dave is right. AVG is simply replacing an old version and discontinuing that version, so the product will continue to be available. It is a good product, and though I recommend Avast! for home use, AVG seems to be just as good.
