Pop up Blocker Tests

Everyone knows pop up ads are annoying. They annoy you. They annoy me. They annoy everyone, but it is dangerous to get rid of them. Why? Because sometimes login screens and other important windows pop up and they look to some blockers like pop up ads. To reduce the hazard this causes, your pop up blocker should make a sound to indicate that it is blocking an ad, thus alerting you to the possible problem.

A great tool for testing pop up blockers is:

I find the pop up blocker in Slimbrowser http:⁄⁄www.flashpeak.com⁄sbrowser⁄  to be pretty good. Though it doesn't block every pop up, it makes it very easy to get them back by clicking on a "get it back" icon on the toolbar. The one in Netcaptor http:⁄⁄www.netcaptor.com⁄  is even better. It seems to block all the pop ups, and I have it making a zapping sound when it kills one. But, to get them back if it made a mistake, I've got  to turn off pop up blocking and leave and then re-enter the site. Fortunately, it hasn't made a mistake yet.

Both products are built into the browsers which are IE based and extend Internet Explorer's functionality.

Mozilla seems pretty mediocre with it's built-in pop up blocker, and Mozilla Firefox was mediocre and also didn't have an option to notify you of the pop up blocking.
