Disabling the Preview Pane

The preview pane of all email programs must be disabled. If it is not disabled, then the email is opened in the preview page and your system is incurring needless risk. Viruses can be run simply by highlighting an e-mail to delete it.

Just in case you haven't had me out and it isn't done on your computer, here's how to do it.

Outlook Express
select View --> Layout --> Layout Tab --> uncheck Show preview pane.
Outlook
Outlook 2002: select View --> Preview Pane (toggle: select to disable)
In Outlook 2003: select View --> Reading Pane --> select Off
Eudora
Tools-->Options--> viewing mail - and uncheck preview pane
Mozilla
From the Email program Select View --> Show⁄Hide - Uncheck Message pane
