Critical EZ Antivirus Update

EZ antivirus has a vulnerability and you should upgrade to EZ Antivirus 2005 r 7.0.5. Releases 7.0.0 - 7.0.4 are all vulnerable. I would not recommend this if you have Windows 98, but would with Windows 2000 or XP.

Step 1: Get Ready

Use this link to download the latest version http:⁄⁄consumerdownloads.ca.com⁄myeTrust⁄apps⁄EZAntivirus.exe . Remember where you put it.
Get your user name and password ⁄ registration code ready. Print it out or find it on your computer for cut and paste.

Step 2: Purge Quarantined Items

Open up EZ Antivirus. Click on the 'Tools' tab.
Click on the 'Quarantined Items' button to view all the items that have been quarantined by EZ Antivirus.
Click on the 'Purge' button to remove all items from the quarantine repository.

Step 3: Uninstall EZ Antivirus

Click on the Windows Start button, choose Settings | Control Panel (if running Windows XP, please choose Start | Control Panel).
Double-click on the Add⁄Remove Programs icon.
Select the eTrust EZ Antivirus and select Remove.
Select Uninstall.
Reboot your computer when the uninstall is completed.

Step 4: Install latest version

Double-click on the file you downloaded. This will begin the installation process.
The install-shield will run. Read the information on the first screen then click on Next.
On the next screen insert your License Key provided in your Welcome email as well as in your my-eTrust.com Account. You can minimize the installation to access this information, by clicking the minus sign at the top right corner of the screen. Click next.
eTrust EZ Antivirus will install and download signature files.
You will be prompted to reboot your computer. This is necessary for the drivers to take effect. You must restart your computer to complete the installation process.
